What is an Electrode?
An electrode is a conductor through which electricity is passed at a very high voltage to generate a spark. Electrodes are used to ignite combustible gases and can also be used as a safety device to sense the flame. They are often referred to as a spark electrode, flame electrode or ionisation probe.
